OUR COMMUNITY
Athens is often considered a gateway between the east and the west, a crossroads for trade, cultures and peoples. It is one of the world’s oldest cities and boasts a vibrant and fascinating history, but, out of the heart of this metropolis comes a desperate need for countless individuals to find freedom from a life in prostitution.
OUR WORK

We partner with 3 organisations and have our volunteers giving their time to these valuables ministries:

Nea Zoi reaches out to men and women working in prostitution, whether by choice or through coercion and human trafficking, and seeks to show them that Jesus is the alternative to a degrading and dangerous lifestyle.  By visiting these individuals in their place of brokenness, we can offer friendship, advice and opportunities for change.  We believe that a relationship with the loving God is the foundation for lasting transformation.

Threads of Hope, launched out of Nea Zoi in 2012, furthers this support by training and equipping women to walk free from their former life, teaching them how to make bags and other items as an alternative income earning opportunity.  Once they become skilled in sewing, they are offered legal employment, with products that are made being sold for a profit which is then invested back into the organisation.

The Salvation Army—Green Light Project operates a safe haven in the form of a drop-in centre providing food, drink and friendly, non-judgemental conversation.  It is a place where, through counselling and case management, women are helped to develop personally and work towards gaining life skills, learn income generating activities and new ways of living to help them to break free from their former lives of sexual slavery.
