OUR COMMUNITY
Migori is in the far south western corner of Kenya, 15 miles north of the border with Tanzania. While it has areas of development and growth, it also is a place where there are many vulnerable people who are open to exploitation. There are many widows and orphans who are left to fend for themselves which brings it own sense of hopelessness and despair - voiceless and invisible, they struggle for daily existence. Trafficking is rife being so close to the border and many children are trafficked for prostitution and even for their body parts, both evil trades that impacts those that have no protection.
Christ Care Ministries International is a beacon on light and hope in the community and One Collective UK is delighted to be partnering with them to see more lives transformed by the power of God in an holistic way. They have established churches with the purpose of reaching the community and catalysing change. The leader, Wicklife and and his wife Lilian are church planters with a soft touch for the needy in this society. Wicklife is an evangelist and church planter in this community who takes care of the fatherless and the vulnerable children and widows. For him the line between the orphanage and church is very thin because all the orphans are growing up in a church setting.
They continue to trust God for family missionary support. Wicklife says, “We will continue to sacrifice more and more to reach our goal of serving the orphans and widows once more before we all die. We derive our family’s joy from serving Christ through serving the needy and giving them the first priority over each of our family members”.

OUR WORK
Our focus as Christ Care Orphans Academy is to give free quality education to orphans and vulnerable children in a Christian setting. We give orphans free quality education! Our Orphans Academy is open to all orphans from our community and neighbouring communities. No orphan pays any amount for services and goods provided by our school.
