OUR COMMUNITY

We are located on Km. 15 of the Portuguese Way to Santiago de Compostela in a beautiful little village called Angueira de Castro. Established in the valley of a pre-Roman settlement and surrounded by nature, the town is a well preserved example of Galician rural architecture, cultural heritage and natural beauty.

Every (non-pandemic) year, 300,000 pilgrims from all over the world walk the Camino de Santiago, an ancient pilgrimage that began in the 9th century. The Portuguese Way (where we are located) is currently the second most popular route. Most pilgrims are on a spiritual journey, searching for meaning and dealing with life’s existential questions.

OUR WORK

We are currently restoring an ancient rural house (more than 200 years old) to transform it into a place of hospitality, soul care and spiritual formation. Casa de Pan (House of Bread) will be a place designed to welcome those who are on an inner journey (actual pilgrims or those who set their hearts on pilgrimage). We envision Casa de Pan as a modern monastery, a place where we see lives transformed by the love of God, through nature, beauty, community, and the practice of spiritual disciplines.
