After passing this camp in 2020 every time we travel to Lomolo Village, we couldn’t help but start noticing the devastating circumstances under which these people live. This was also in the year when Corona started, so things in general was even worst than usual.

Although our approach to missions tends to lean towards empowerment programs, we started feeling the Lord's compassion growing in our hearts. We stopped several times and finally met the leader of the camp, Mary. We learnt that these people - 64 families give or take - had been evicted from their homes in the forest by the Government about eight plus years ago, and that they've been waiting to be re-settled. They have no clean water available; no decent sewerage system and they've learned to take each day as it comes, with no real expectations except maybe to have at least one decent plate of food on the table each day.

After seeking God's direction for several months, YASHA Ministry International together with One Collective, felt the Lord leading us to Romans 15:13, and that our task was to allow the God of Hope to fill each one of these precious people with joy and peace in believing, so that by the power of the Holy Spirit they might abound in hope.

We were wondering how to do that. We finally sensed that God wanted us to give each family a decent food parcel filled with not only necessities, but also with a few luxuries like biscuits and juice for the children. Each household represented about four to five people (some even six, believe it or not) which brought the total number of people to anything between 256-320 plus people. 

People responded from all over and, not only did we manage to put a lovely food parcel together, but were able to also buy each family a Bible in their language. We managed to give Corona a little kick in the butt, and restored some level of hope to these displaces families. Through the help of wonderful well-wishers, they'd managed to see the salvation of the Lord come to them through love and kindness.
